Suboxone Initial Appointment at Mindset Healthcare:
During your 60-minute appointment at Mindset Healthcare, you’ll meet with a healthcare provider to discuss your opioid use disorder (OUD) and explore treatment options. Here are the key steps:
  1. Assessment and Diagnosis:
    • The provider will assess the severity of your OUD and review your medical and psychiatric history.
    • They’ll also perform a physical examination and review any relevant lab results, including urine toxicology tests.
    • If you’re appropriate for Suboxone treatment, they’ll confirm the diagnosis.
  2. Consent Forms:
    • You’ll need to complete all 12 consent forms related to your treatment. These forms ensure that you understand the risks, benefits, and expectations of Suboxone therapy.
  3. Suboxone Induction:
    • Standard induction of Suboxone typically requires mild to moderate opioid withdrawal. However, Mindset Healthcare follows a novel low-dose buprenorphine induction procedure.
    • This means you can start Suboxone regardless of whether you’re currently in withdrawal or have recently used opioids1.
Remember to arrive prepared for your appointment and bring any relevant medical records. Mindset Healthcare is committed to improving treatment access and retention for individuals with OUD. If you have any questions, feel free to ask during your visit!

  1. Administration of Sublocade:
    • Your treatment provider will administer Sublocade just under the skin (subcutaneously) in your abdomen.

    • You’ll need to complete all 12 consent forms related to your treatment.
    • Counseling is an essential part of your treatment plan. Discuss your goals and any concerns with your treatment team.
