A follow-up visit (30 minutes) typically focuses on reviewing your progress since the last appointment, discussing the effectiveness of any prescribed treatments or medications, and addressing any side effects or new symptoms that may have emerged. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, express concerns, and discuss any life changes that might impact your mental health, ensuring ongoing support and adjustment to your care plan.
A new patient appointment involves an intake assessment where the provider gathers information about your mental health history, current symptoms, medical background, and social context. Based on this comprehensive assessment, the provider will develop a tailored treatment plan, which may include therapy, medication, or lifestyle changes, while also addressing any questions or concerns you may have. The aim is to create a supportive plan for your mental well-being.
