What is integrative primary care?
Integrative medicine uses evidenced based approach to treat the whole person holistically. This approach uses a combination of therapies. It “integrates'' conventional approaches and complementary therapies to achieve optimal health and healing. Such as prescription medications, IV therapies, supplements, nutritional guidance, and other modalities to treat patients in a holistic manner.

The following is a list of common primary care services:

1. Preventive services: health promotion education to help prevent illnesses or diseases.
2. Proper disease diagnosis: Physical exams, lab tests are used to diagnose diseases or other illnesses.
3. Ongoing care for common illnesses: We continue to see patients throughout their lifespan to treat illnesses and diseases once they are diagnosed.
4. Caring for chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, chronic fatigue, Obesity, hormone imbalances, thyroid issues, etc.
5. Annual checkups: Annual visits; which are important, especially as we get older.
6. Screening for common age-related conditions: We provide health screenings for common age-related conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, prostate issues, and hormonal imbalances.
7. We provide recommendations and referrals to a specialist when needed.
If we uncover an illness or disease that is better suited for treatment from a specialist, we will provide a recommendation so that the patient can see the right specialist for best results. We work with the specialists when it comes to more severe conditions such as cancer or heart disease. However, the specialist will keep the primary care practitioner updated so that they can continue to monitor the patient's condition. 
Routine primary care medical services include acute medical problems, advanced assessment, diagnosis, blood work order and review, medication prescription; health promotion, restoration, & disease prevention, Nutrition education, patient and family education. 
Acute medical issues- examples: Urinary tract infections, upper respiratory problems, headaches, and minor to moderate pain.

NOTE: Your visits are completed Virtually, Not in office. in-office visits are available if necessary.

If you're interested in weight loss: Below are some of the therapies that may be utilized based on assessment, medical history, and your goal:
Wegovy (Semaglutide)-A prescription injectable once weekly weight-loss medication that helps you lose weight by activating glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which are produced in the intestine.

• Weight Loss (0.5 to 4 pounds more weekly)
• Lowering blood pressure which is important for heart health. 
• Improving heart failure symptoms: May reduce symptoms like fatigue, shortness of breath, and swelling in people with heart failure. 
• Treats Pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes and safely reduces blood Glucose Levels
• Semaglutide can lower cholesterol, which is another important benefit for heart health. 
• Semaglutide can reduce inflammation, which can help prevent plaque from breaking off and closing off arteries. 
• Semaglutide can improve physical abilities and exercise function in people with heart failure.
• Potential side effects may include: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation; headaches.

Zepbound (Tirzepatide)-A prescription injectable once weekly weight-loss medication that helps you lose weight by activating two hormones; glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which are produced in the intestine.

• Tirzepatide helps regulate glucose and lipid (fat) metabolism by slowing stomach emptying.
• Tirzepatide slows down how quickly food moves through your stomach, which helps you feel full longer, thus reducing your appetite.
• Tirzepatide signals the brain that you're full, which helps you eat less.
• In clinical trials, people taking Tirzepatide lost an average of: 15% to 21% of their body weight, depending on the dose 5.5–7.3 inches off their waistlines, and reduced their body fat by about 34%.
• Tirzepatide Also helps with sleep apnea by promoting significant weight loss through appetite suppression, which in turn reduces the airway obstruction that causes breathing pauses during sleep.
• Potential side effects may include: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation; headaches.

Contrave- A prescription medication contains a combination of bupropion and naltrexone which is a daily pill to suppress your appetite.

•  Bupropion is an antidepressant medicine that can also decrease appetite. 
•  Naltrexone is usually given to block the effects of opioids or alcohol in people with addiction problems. Naltrexone may also curb hunger and food cravings.
•  Contrave is an anorexiant and is used to help manage weight in obese or overweight adults with weight-related medical problems. 
•  This medicine is used together with diet and exercise.
•  Potential side effects may include: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation; headache, dizziness; dry mouth; or sleep problems (insomnia

Phentermine: A prescription medication used as an appetite suppressant to aid in weight loss. It is typically prescribed for individuals with a BMI of 30 or higher, or those with a BMI of 27 or higher with weight-related health conditions. 

• Phentermine works by increasing levels of neurotransmitters like norepinephrine, which helps suppress appetite.
• Usage: It is usually taken once daily for up to 12 weeks, though some studies suggest it may be safe and effective for longer-term use.
• Effectiveness: Studies show that phentermine can lead to significant weight loss when combined with diet and exercise.
• Phentermine is a controlled substance and should only be used under medical supervision.
• Potential side effects include dry mouth, nervousness, insomnia, and increased heart rate. Serious side effects can include cardiovascular issues.
