We currently have 3 lasers:
Diode 808
Nd:YAG Picosecond
Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL)
DIODE 808ONLY used for: Laser Hair Removal/Reduction
The energy from the laser is picked up by the pigment from the hair follicle causing destruction at the root. Our laser includes contact cooling to deliver a painless experience.
MOST LASERS ONLY WORKS ON DARK PIGMENTED HAIR. THEY WILL NOT WORK ON BLONDE OR GRAY HAIR.
You will need anywhere from 8-12+ treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, to achieve desired initial results. It is important to attend all sessions. Most people see results after 6-8 sessions. As with any other treatment, incomplete response or recurrence may occur.
Laser hair removal is not always permanent. Sometimes the hair can grow back after a period of time. It is recommended to get maintenance treatments every 6-12 months to maintain optimal results.
Laser hair removal is generally safe, however, there is a risk of burns, blistering, pigment changes, scaring, and redness.
The laser cannot go over tattooed skin due to a risk of burns.
Nd:YAG PICOSECOND LASER Primarily used for: Laser Tattoo Removal/Reduction
Tattoo clearance WILL require several sessions. The laser uses different wavelengths of light to breakdown the pigment. Once the laser breaks down the ink, your immune system removes the pigment particles over the following weeks. After a couple treatments you will notice your tattoo beginning to lighten. It will continue to do so with every session until the pigment is no longer visible. As with any other treatment, incomplete response or recurrence may occur.
Please note: Cosmetic tattoos, such as eyebrows can turn red/orange during the tattoo removal process due to the break down of the iron oxide pigments.
The procedure may or may not be uncomfortable. For those who find it uncomfortable, they report the feeling being similar to being snapped by a rubber band. During recovery the area will feel tender and sensitive to touch due to swelling and blistering. Once these side effects subside over the next few days, the pain improves. Pain can be managed by over-the-counter analgesia such as acetaminophen. There is little to no downtime. You can even return to your usual activities shortly after treatment with the exception of workouts that cause sweating.
Side effects are an expected part of laser tattoo removal. In fact, some of these are an important part of the immune response that helps eliminate the ink from the skin.
Common side effects include:
- -Redness
- -Tenderness
- -Blistering
- -Swelling
- -Crusting/Scabs
- -Bruising
- -Pigment changes
PULSED DYE LASERPrimarily used for: Vascular Lesion Removal/Reduction
Pulsed dye lasers (PDLs) use short bursts of intense light to target and destroy blood vessels in the skin. PDLs emit a wavelength of light that is specifically absorbed by hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells. This absorption creates heat, which causes the targeted blood vessels to coagulate and break down.
Over time, the body removes the damaged blood vessels, resulting in a reduction in redness and discoloration. As with any other treatment, incomplete response or recurrence may occur.
PDL treatment sessions usually take only a few minutes. The procedure may or may not be uncomfortable. For those who find it uncomfortable, they report the feeling being similar to being snapped by a rubber band. Most patients will usually need between 1-3 treatments, with some conditions requiring more.
They are primarily used to treat vascular lesions, such as:
- -Port wine stains
- -Rosacea
- -Spider veins
- -Hemangiomas
- -Facial redness
- -Others
Common Side Effects Include:
- -Redness
- -Tenderness
- -Blistering
- -Swelling
- -Crusting/Scabs
- -Bruising
- -Pigment changes
